What an amazing place!

Never would I have believed that my Hebrew could improve so greatly in so short a time. The methods used in this Ulpan differ from those used in most other such programs, both within and outside Israel. Ulpan Or combines a great deal of listening while simultaneously reading texts, but the most important method employed is actually “forcing” the student to speak. This is done in a delightful, interactive, enjoyable manner. The highlight of my studies at Ulpan Or, however, were the “tiulim” (trips) to various fascinating spots in Jerusalem, accompanied by an Ulpan teacher who spoke only Hebrew during the trip. Learning words “on site” concertizes them in one’s memory. All in all, Ulpan Or offers an efficient and enjoyable method of teaching one to speak, read, and write Hebrew.
