I can only report that my progress not only exceeded my very modest expectations, but my wildest hopes

My greatest disappointment is not being able to continue for yet another session. When I came to Ulpan Or I had really only one goal – to speak Hebrew. I had been in other programs over the years, both in the U.S. and in Israel, most recently in a well respected and, in many ways, [...]

After two and a half weeks at Ulpan-Or Eliana is back in the classroom understanding 90% of everything that she is taught in Hebrew

We moved to Efrat, Isreal in August with our two children. Both Elian age 10 and Eliza age 7 had been enrolled in a bilingual school in Boca Raton, Florida , yet they were completely unprepared to study all their academic subjects in Hebrew only. After several months Eliza felt completely overwhelmed.  Eliana was not [...]

Taking this course was one of the best decisions I ever made

Taking this course was one of the best decisions I ever made. Prior to the course my knowledge of Hebrew was only what I had needed to barely scrape by at my Bar Mitzvah, but after two weeks at Ulpan-Or I learned more Hebrew then in all the years of Sunday school combined. I [...]

I came with only Shalom and Todah, and within 2 weeks I am talking and (almost) reading and am excited about learning more, continuing to speak with people, and, with language in my mind and heart, further integrating into life here in Jerusalem.  [...]

I would recommend this and esp the Sabra program

I learned so much Hebrew from this ulpan. I would recommend this and esp the Sabra program (since that’s the program I participated in) for anyone that truly wants to have a preview how it should feel to totally speak Hebrew and experience a week long adventure into seeing how it feels to speak only [...]

This method of teaching is outstanding. It works

_This method of teaching is outstanding. It works! Somehow the vocabulary gets into your head and sticks. The affirmation statement helps a great deal, as well as the constant encouragement from the staff and the teachers. You can do it and you are made to believe you can. In addition to the learning, everyone is [...]

It has been a great experience

It has been the first Ulpan I have ever done and it has been a great experience. The only speaking Hebrew was a difficulty for me but I think it was what helped me the most. It has given me the confidence to talk to the locals in Israel and bargaining in the shook.

give student confidence and fluency that they never thought they would have

Daniel Grunstein, 16 years old
In the past I have studied at numerous intensive Hebrew Institutions all of which have helped me. However I think what makes Ulpan Or stand out amongst all of them is their ability to educate their students on more than merely the standard curriculum but to give student confidence and fluency [...]
